GET INVOLVED
We need help from our local community in supporting the family in order to give them the best possible start. You can get involved in a number of ways, such as fundraising, translating, providing English and homework support, befriending, renting your property or helping the family with day-to-day tasks like transport, applications and appointments.

VOLUNTEERING
We will be looking for volunteers to help support the family in a number of ways:

Teaching English

Translating. We are expecting an Arabic speaking family. If you can help with translation please get in touch.

Transport to appointments

Befriending once the family have been here for a while and have a basic understanding of English

FINANCIAL SUPPORT
Before we make our application we need to raise a minimum of £9,000. This money will be used to support the family and ensure we have the finances to deal with any issues that may arise.
Once the family arrive we will need to provide some monthly financial support until they learn English and are able to work.

HOMEWORK SUPPORT
Supporting children within the family with learning is really important. Can you imagine how scary it is to arrive in a country and not even understand the alphabet! Most of the families will have been displaced for at least 5 years so the children may not have had any access to school in that time. We will need to put a lot of energy into helping them learn and catch up with their peers so that they can enjoy a brighter future.
